When we arrived in Hanoi we checked in to the hostel and got a lush private 3 bed room! We thought we would splash out and treat ourselves after spending the last two nights sleeping on a bus.

As soon as we got there, we got showered and headed down to the buzzing backpackers bar downstairs.

We met up with the Essex boys we had met before in luang prabang and went out with everyone from our hostel. The reps from our hostel took us out and took us to the local bars. The bars shut early in Hanoi as the police come round at 11.30 and close everything down. But some of the bars pay the police money to stay open an hour longer if they're busy!

After losing everyone, we headed back to our room with Essex and we were treated to a special rendition of "bump and grind" by Fenning (aka Reading) and Daryl (aka Essex). The 'dance' moves made it a special moment and it was made even more interesting when Fenning decided to pour some shower gel on the floor and slide around like a penguin on ice. That's when the night started and ended.

We decided to call it a day and get some shut eye after Reading and Essex fell over about 20 times in the shower gel, and now beer, covering our floor.

Possibly the funniest night of the trip so far.
