Day 3 - Trek in the jungle
We woke up feeling more fresh and had breakfast again which was the same as the day before. We carried on with our last day of trekking which we pleased to find out was downhill! Yayyyy!! It was so much easier but we were still sweating loads cause of all the alcohol we drank the night before. We definitely looked a bit worse for wear!
We walked down the mountain for about an hour until we reached another amazing waterfall. We got back into our swimwear and got into the waterfall to cool off again. This waterfall was one you could stand under so we all went in together and got some pictures taken. By the time we got out, our hangovers seemed to have disappeared! Woohoo!
We continued our trek which can only be described as the best day of trekking. The scenery was amazing. We we walking for miles alongside rivers, streams and little waterfalls. I managed to make sure I took lots of photos as it really was incredible!! It looked like something out of Jurassic Park the movie. If only there were the dinosaurs!!
We trekked for another hour or so.. And came to the river to do the white water rafting. We had been so excited the whole trip about doing this! 6 of us got into a boat and headed down the river rapids with our paddles in hand. It was so much fun! We had a few water fights throughout with the other boats around! Afterwards, we went bamboo rafting which to be honest was just sitting on a piece of bamboo and sinking. We didn't really get it?!
We had our last meal together and then headed back to Chiang Mai. We were sad to say goodbye to Chan and the others, but we were also glad to sleep in a normal bed and eat something other than Thai food. Needless to say, we demolished a Burger King that night. I don't think we spoke for a whole 10 minutes.
All in all, the trek was definitely the best thing I've ever done in my life!! I had the most amazing time! And that's just in the first week of travelling.. so I'm really looking forward to whats more to come in the next few months.
