We ended up waking up at 2pm.. As we were exhausted from the flight! We got a taxi from our hotel to the pier to go on a long boat down the Mae Nam Chao Phraya river. We had a cute little man drive our boat whilst we sipped on a cold can of Singha beer. Beaut! He took us to see some floating houses on the river where we saw the locals and we even went to a fish farm where we got to feed hundreds of fish! It was amazing!! The views from our boat were like those of a canvas painting with the sun setting behind the tall skyscrapers in the fog of Bangkok - it was so scenic! After the fish farm, our little man to us to Wat Pho (temple in the city) where we saw a massive gold Buddha! We even saw the army soldiers and a big band parade. Someone clearly knew we'd arrived in Bangkok! I really wanted to buy a Buddha to bring home and put in my bedroom but couldn't cause of my backpack :( and I don't think mum and dad would be too happy anyway.
We then went to Koh San Road to embrace new traveller life. We had our first Pad Thai dish for dinner and went to market stalls to buy..
Bracelets: Check.
Harem trousers: Check.
Fake raybans: Check.
Mission = accomplished.
We then headed back to the hotel for a leisurely dip in the swimming pool at 10pm. Bliss. We lazed and chatted in the pool whilst looking at the view over Bangkok. We certainly made the most of our last night of luxury for a while..
