So after a hefty 11 hour flight we finally arrived in Bangkok. A cloud of heat/humidity/sweatiness hit us as soon as we arrived, which combined with the weight of our backpack on our back for the first time, was quite a shock for the both of us!

But we made our way to our lush 5 star hotel in a taxi and checked in to find our own queen bed each ready and waiting for us to collapse on!

What we had in mind for the rest of the day, was to have a chilled and early night in bed after our s***ty 5 hour sleep on the plane. But no :) we headed out to the tourist information centre to book some more of our little adventure! We booked a little trip to the floating market, our train to Chiang Mai and a 3 day trek in Chiang Mai where we get to go on an elephant ride, stay with the hill tribe, go to the jungle and waterfalls, and do some 'glamping'.

We then decided to head to the Pat Pong night market for some food on a Tuk Tuk... Little did we know that we would be tricked into going into a ping pong bar!!! When we only wanted a bottle of Singha beer! What a way to be introduced to Bangkok on our first night..!

We finally arrived home after our eye opening experience.. And found THE most hottest red Thai curry known to mankind!!!! It actually brought tears to my eyes and a whole new world of pain.

Today seems very surreal and 'different'. But it's all part of a new and exciting adventure :)

Day 1 over. Roll on tomorrow. Just without the ping and the pong please.
