This is the last day of our cruise and it is a sea day. We got to sleep in today. I managed to make it all the way to 7:00!
I just worked on my blog and then we sat on the deck and watched Mary Poppins on the big screen with a bucket of beer soaking up the sun. We went to a wine tasting in the afternoon which was fun. But then we had to go to the cabin to pack because we had to leave our luggage out before we went to dinner.
Dinner was fun. We had plans to eat with our Aussie friends, George and Michele and Frank and another couple from California we’d met a few times during the cruise. And we met a new couple from New Jersey who joined us. We had lots of laughs, said our goodbyes and went to the cabin. We have to get up early to disembark and head home. It’s always a bittersweet time because we’re leaving our new friends that we likely won’t see again and coming back to reality, but we’re coming home to our family and existing friends.
I had been waiting all week to get a picture of a bridge that connects Denmark with Sweden. Our ship only clears the bridge by 8 meters but if there is a repair bucket ha going down where we pass under the clearance reduces to 2 1/2 meters. I really wanted to get a photo of it from the deck. I totally forgot about it as we went under it at 8:30 while we were having dinner. All of a sudden I saw it out the window and managed to get a so-so picture. I was so disappointed.
One thing I forgot to mention before is that I noticed every time we leave port they play the TV show Love Boat theme with the ships horn. Gave me a chuckle.
I enjoyed this cruise but it was very tiring. It definitely was not relaxing. We were always on the go and rushing around to see everything we could except on sea days. I think we need to learn to take it easy on these trips.
