Happy birthday Les! Xo
Today we were picked up at 11:30 to go to the ship to start our 11 day Baltic cruise. I spent a 1/2 hour repacking. I had forgotten a couple of toiletries :( so I went out to see if I clould pick them up before getting on the ship while Vic completed his arduous 2 hour repacking process. I walked a short distance and finally found a place at the train terminal.
We got on the bus and proceeded to the terminal. The bus driver dropped us off at the wrong terminal! Great start. All the luggage was already offloaded so we decided to walk to the correct terminal. The embarkation process went well and we got to our room and decided to explore the ship and have lunch while we waited for our luggage to be delivered. My bag was there when we went back to the room but Vic’s was nowhere to be found. I figured it was because he had 2 bottles of wine in his suitcase. You are allowed 1 bottle per person. We were going to go back into Copenhagen to see a couple of attractions we didn’t get into yesterday, but our terminal was far from town and we couldn’t see any way to get into town other than the expensive taxis. So we decided to just relax for the afternoon (our legs were killing us from all the walking & my plantar fasciitis was acting up). We went to the pool area and had a couple of beers while watching a documentary about Elton John. There is a huge screen in the area and they have current movies and other special presentations showing throughout the day and night. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. We were disappointed that we had to go for our safety meeting. When we went back to the room we found Vic’s luggage there with a note saying they found “excess alcohol” and his bag was opened. The note said they may be in touch at a later date about the issue. Good news - they didn’t take the extra bottle of wine.
After dinner we just hung out in the atrium area where all the action is and eventually called it an early night. We have been up early every day exploring Iceland and Copenhagen and feel like we have put hundreds of kilometres on these old legs. We’re pretty tired.
Tomorrow is Oslo.
I’m having trouble with the photos so there may be none. I’ll try but can’t promise anything.
