The Monday before Australia day we took a trip into Melbourne for the afternoon (while Amy & Ben went to work). After wandering through St Kilda, savouring falafel for lunch on the beach and very successful shoe shopping we caught a tram into the city. A spot of sight seeing then we met the workers and headed out of town, to the sticks, to stay with friends of Ben. After a funfilled night of Fish n chips, local beer sampling and 'Hey Gary' at the local country pub, Amy & Liz made their own fun with some helmet photo shots. We all woke up with a bit of a fuzzy head but after a spot of breakfast we were ready to head off for the Hanging Rock races. The sky was blue and the heat was on as we placed our bets - 1 each in every race (including a tip for the 7th horse in the 7th race). We were nearly evens with our winnings after the sixth race when we decided to head home - kindly handing over our betting slips for the final race to a stranger (little did we know bet 7:7 would rock in as our biggest win :(! )

A great Australia day which we finished off with a BBQ back in Mornington.
