We were very excited to arrive in Oz after quite a long flight over from Tokyo. Amy and Ben picked us up and we headed back to their place which is great and no sooner had we chucked our bags in our room, were we sitting in the garden with a cold beer in hand!

We weren't too tired as the time difference from Japan is only 2 hours so we went over to Ben's parents for our first Aussie BBQ - no shrimps but some great grub and more beers. All Ben's family were so welcoming, we instantly felt very relaxed and at home. After the BBQ we took the cover off the hot tub and all got in and relaxed with more beers and various drinking games (Hey Gary, Bottles and Bunnies).

Liz and I had been here no more than 12 hours and we (Amy, Ben, Liz and I) were all pretty boozey so we walked back from Ben's parents - the first time in over 2 years that Amy and Ben have walked back!!

Next day we were shown around down by the beach so we know how to get there for our stressful and busy days sunbathing. However, the weather has taken a turn for the worse and has been quite stormy with heavy bursts of rain and strong wind. Due to get better as the week goes on though so the beach action can begin.

So far its great in Oz and looking forward to the next few weeks.
