Amazing couple of days. Have been up to close hill to watch the sunset every night and have felt energised and amazed by where we are and what we are doing. It seems to get better each night. It has been colder and cloudier the past few days and we had a heavy storm that bucketed down on the campsite but the sunset seems to encompass the energy seen within the weather changes producing amazing rainbows and other breathtaking effects.
Went to Uluru and the Olgas yesterday. 3 day pass is $50, $25 per adult and kids are free. Set out to do the 10 kms around the base with kids and their bikes and only lasted the Mala walk to Kantju Gorge which was 3 km return. We just made this as Maddy fell off his bike and had to be bandaged up and Ash was just getting used to biking again. We are planning on going back tomorrow to do another slightly longer walk which will be great. We also went to the Olgas and drove around. Also an amazing place although not sandstone like Uluru. When quizzing the kids about what Uluru was made of Maddy was convinced it was gingerbread.
Kids have had once again an amazing time in the free camp making dot drawings, gingerbread men, taking numerous photos, making little stick houses, honey joys and inventing game after game. Downloaded some books by Bronwyn Bancroft which are all done in dot form to help the kids understand how the Aboriginal's communicated many of their stories.
