Hey guys!!
WEll, obviously we're still having an awesome time but im sure that surprises noone! After our much needed rest day in Harvey bay after our amazing fraser island tour we had to say goodbye to some great friends we'd met, adn move onto Kroombit, a cattle station in the middle(ish) of the outback! The Station is so big that they have to herd their cows with a helicopter, 10,000acres and alot of cows! we rocked up in our bus and were met by real life cowboys, which was very exciting! After we'd booked into our dorms - which were horse stables with bunk beds in them(!) - we had a steak for lunch and then went off to have a go at some cowboy activities!
Firstly we had a go at lasooing, couldnt catch a cowboy but managed to loop the goat skull! GReg had a go at clay pidgeon shooting and did pretty well and then we did a form of goat rodeo! in teams of three we were put into this big pen with the floor covered in what we hoped was mud...but smelt nothing like it! next they added a goat! the first one was tiny, jsut a baby and so cute! One person had to catch the goat which was so funny adn one had to pick it up and the last had to pretend to brand it. very funny when it was timed and everyone was trying to do their best!!
After all that fun we toko another 4x4 ride back to the ranch and had some really good beef for supper beofre huddling around the fire drinking giggle juice! that day it was 6degres and usually should have been 24! so if greg didnt mention the other day we arent having the most brilliant ozzy weather! Then we did the mechanical bull which i screamed and fell off straight away! greg did slightly better but it was tough!
The next day we had a really long bus journey to Airlie Beach to start our whitsunday sailing! that night we went to a bar with a load of people from fraser and some newbie friends we'd spent the last 2 days trafvelling with. Luckily alot of our friends form fraser also were on our boat for the next 2 days!
The nest morning (still praying for the sun to come out!) we stocked up on wine and boarded the boat! It was such a nice boat, condor. in its day won every race it was in twice! pretty cool! That afternoon we went snorkeling and it was SO beautiful!! we were so cold but had to do it cos its not every day the great barrier reef is there to snorkel on! wasnt too dunny but still saw loads of fish and beautiful coral.
The next few days were fab, more snorkelling, brilliant food (which we didnt have to buy or cook - hurray!!) and some brillant nights partying, plus some top sailing. The boat wasnt a cruisy ferry type, it as a proper sailing boat with tiny tiolets and prper hammocks and bunks in a huge dorm. We were also needed to help out so got to put up the sail and stuff! as the boat was going along it was on its edge so we were clinging on so it didnt rock us off!
Also got to see whiteheaven beach whihc is stunning and the 4th most photographed place in oz and we could se why! it was a really cloudy day but the colours in the sea were amazing! and the sand is white and as fine as talcom powder.
so the sialing trip could have been sunnier but was so good and we loved it! had a good night out with the crew after and then got up yesterday and made our way here to magnetic island!
AND THE SUN SHINED TODAY!!! which is more exciting than u can imagine! greg saw a koala and a tried to sit on the beach but it was a little chilly with the wind but its a lovely place and tomoeo a few of us are renting a car and going to see some other beaches! on friday we're heading to mission beach for a further chill out and then onto cairns for my brithday!! cant beleive in a week we'll be in New zealand!!
Lots of love!! xxxxxx
