Hi all!
What a busy few days we have had. I am sure you have all heard the news about Bangkok! This has put us in a rather tricky situation and forced us to change our plans as we can no longer fly out of Bangkok to Australia. The good news is hopefully we will be on a list waiting to fly out of Phuket a.s.a.p. Fingers crossed we get to Sydney before our flights and tours start there.
We left Samui with a brief but calm ferry trip back to the mainland and were told we would get two more buses to take us to phuket to arrive at 8.30. This did not happen!! After numerous unwanted stops in an un-airconditioned bus with horrid men who kept us waiting at places for 30 mins to an hour each time trying to sell food and get commission on accomodation, we didn't even get to phuket until 11.30pm! By which time we had missed our taxi to the thai boxing camp and were not prepared to go into the town on our own at night. Luckily we were with some nice guys who new of somewhere to stay in Patong beach. So for an extra 200baht we went there and found somewhere t stay. You cannot trust any of the thai people here...everything is a scam. So no thai boxing but 2 nights in Patong...which apparently is the red light district of Phuket (ooops failed to mention that mum hehe). It was fine though despite the crazy amount of bars and "lady boys" there was a nice beach and shopping and time to relax.
We then headed to Phi Phi Don the main island of two. It has been worth waiting for! It is beautiful here. Imagine centre parcs on a tropical island and wayyyyy better! There are no cars, motorbikes, tuk tuks or anything. Just cobbled streets or paths where u can walk or ride a bicycle. They are lined with either shops, huts/hotels, trees or beaches. It is rather expensive really but we are beyond caring! we have a lovely room with a hot shower and for the first time in a while are very happy, relaxed and hgaving fun. Food is good, beaches are good (we did a day trip today around the local isalnds and saw some beautiful bays, monkeys, snorkelling etc) everything is good! We even saw ther sun for 20 mins today which is the first time really since our trek in Chaing mai (so much for the thailand tan!).
We now decide wherther to stay here for a while or head back to Surin Beach (apparently nice) in Phuket so we are ready to fly out when needs be. Either way all should be fine.
Also i apologise for my appalling spelling and grammar. The keyboards are all different here and trying to type at speeed to save the pennies :-)
hugs

p.s. unfortunatley there is a problem with my sd card on camera. I can see the pictures on a camera but not get them off the card onto a computer. I have a new one to use now but there may be a delay and gap with the pics.
