Hello all!
I reach you from Ko Toa at present which is the north isalnd off of Thailand. After trekking we flew to Ko Samui and then boated straight to Ko Phangan. Here we stayed at a fab resort called rainbow. It was idillic, right on the beach and we stayed in little hut right by the sea. Also ever since i was a child of ever i have felt ill or sad etc i always have a reoccuring thought of being in a hammock between to palm trees on a beach with the sea lapping next to me (think this is based on some calming idea mum said to me hehe) and it was here....i found my dream! So we were able to have some well deserved relaxation and free lifts from the owners (Martin an Australian and Noy his Thai wife). We also exprerienced the well renowned half moon party....which is not what we thought...a huge free party on the beach but a ripp off version in the jungle! Luckily we drank a bucket (of alcohol) before we left and i was well away and didn't have to buy anything there. It was crazy....fluorescent body paint, music, thousands of people...and then the rain came. So 5.30am the next morning we came home...soaked to the skin, bright orange and rather worse for wear. Overall a fab night though as we grouped up with a gang of Londoners and spanish people before hand.
Howver this didn't aid the next days horror story...the worst journey/boat ride ever!! normally i can come with a bit off rough sea but this was ridiculous...everyone on the boat was (to put it bluntly) throwing up and setting each other off...you con't want to know how many bags toya filled!! yuck. luckily i hadn't eaten to much or it could have been worse. This set us back a little on our arrival here in Ko Toa, bit we got stuck in straight away at our resort and had a classroom session on diving and homework!! i felt like a little kid. After an early night we got up for more classroom and test today (the nerd is till in me...i got full marks yipee) and then into the pool for training with the equiptment.
I actually have a small fear of being trapped under water and hate the idea of water in my nose...so after a shaky start and lots of support i am doing ok and managed all of todays tasks. Hopefully by the end of the 4 days we will have done a ocean dive of up to 18 metres and haveour diving licence for open water woooo! the resort is new too so acoomodation is fab.
That is all for now as i need to get back to my homework hehe. Kepp you posted on the next adeventure xxxxxxxxxx
