So we spent 2 weeks here....actually didnt see all that much of the city during the day, but a whole lot of the nightlife! Which is what BA is all about....we also did our fair share of shopping, so we had to chuck out a few things! We also needed to buy lots of warm clobber as we decided to head down south, to Patagonia where it is muy frio!!
The first week was a pretty good one as the A Team were there so we had some more great nights out with them! Was sad to say adios again! But there are plans for more reunions, so dont worry! we actually managed to last a whole night of drum and bass - and even though we both hate drum and bass, we had a bloody good night! Also hit quite a few hip hop clubs which were good, the argie wannabe gangsters are qutie hilarious!! they do love a bit of 50 Cent!! We decided not to go to Pacha after the lady selling the tickets told me id only like it if i took pills - so we decided that was a no!! we also met another sort in the hostel, lissie had the pleasure of sleeping in the bunk above him, we named him Sniffy Joe. the name says it all really, but he was a proper Coke addict - did lines ALL day long, and never went out! just took coke off his lonely planet guide and then passed out in a lump, or played a few tunes on his recorder!! what more could u ask for in a dorm!? we did have many laughs about him! luckily he left after a few days!!
We basically used to get up at about 4pm - which was normal, although many people did tell us off for sleeping too long! Then we used to hit the supermarket for some baguettes! Trying to save the pennies! We never actually made the free breakfast, as it was just too early! Maybe went back to the room for another little nap before going out at about 11 or 12! So basically we just slept and partied!!
We did do a couple of things though....we went to Palermo shopping which is a really nice area. Also went shopping many a time on Avenida Florida to pick up some bargains. Had a few confrontations with the nutters selling Leather on every corner...who also sold 'boyfriends for you' - dont worry mum we didnt buy any!! By the end of it we just pretended we were from japan or something and couldnt speak any english. Went to the park at the end of florida to see the bears too which were pretty good....each country has a abear and i think they move them all around the world -some countries just didnt make an effort at all though!!
We also visited La Boca where all the painted houses are, and we saw some tango dancing in the streets! This turned into a pretty good day, as the little cafe we were eating in had an amazing waiter who ended up giving us FREE tickets to the Argentina Vs Venezuela game!! What a bargain! Everybody else in the hostel paid $250!! So they were not happy, we are still rubbing it in whenever we can!
We also went to Recoletta and saw Evita Peron´s grave...the graveyard was a tad freaky though - you could see the coffins! We did get a little bit freaked out! but most of the graves were pretty damn nice...if u can say that?
The food was pretty great - could get a massive steak for about 3 squids! we also went for 2 indians, which we know is quite bad! but we were craving it sooo much!! But we have certainly not lost any weight - eating steaks every day and drinking lots of wine and beer have turned us into fatties - we are hoping that our little trip to patagonia will thin us out as we will be doing lots of walking!!
all in all was a great 2 and bit weeks! Was sad to leave, but we needed to actually get back to normal, our body clocks were completely reversed!!
Ciao for now!
