Lisa's Big Adventure
Heidelberg
We stopped in Heidelberg for a few hours in the afternoon and I'm so glad we did have the chance to briefly explore this beautiful university town, situated on the Rhine.
I took of with Natalie to hike up the very steep path to the castle that overlooked the town. We didn't have time to go inside but the views of Heidelberg were just gorgeous. Made the walk up worthwhile that's for sure. The castle looked lovely from the outside with it's pinkish walls, a difference to the sheer stone ones I've seen in England.
We then hurried back down into the town, deciding to take a peek inside the cathedral. Now this was definitely worthwhile as although the cathedral wasn't large, it was just gorgeous inside. And after all the cathedrals and churches I've been in, it has stuck in my mind of being the prettiest one I've been in, not the grandest, but the prettiest. The stain glassed windows were gorgeous and it felt very cosy inside. Had time for a quick walk around the streets before we needed to re-board the bus to head to our next destination.
