Lisa's Big Adventure
Sunday we slept in and then headed to the train station for another day out of Prague.
We headed east this time to a little town called Kuatna Hora, famous for it's bone church. Yes, bones. Very eerie but pretty marvellous as there are thousands of bones inside this church, as in the 1200's they ran out of room to bury them so the monks started to store them. There was this wall of skulls and a chandellier made out of bones. I know, it sounds terrible but very effective.
We then wandered down into the town of Kuatna Hora and discovered their easter fair. A combination of markets and the ekka. We rode the dodgem cars (that was fun!) and wandered around. It was lovely although crowded as I think the whole town was out there.
Wandered into the town itself and it was like a ghost town. Found an open pizzeria and had some food and settled in to pass some time as we'd missed the 3pm train back and had to wait till 6pm. Took a walk around the town and then it was time to head back to Prague.
Kutna Hora was a good trip but definately only a half day trip.
