Day 87 - 4th Apr
Last morning at sea, pretty much the same as usual, left the outer reef really early and headed back into the coast, so we could sail back and stop at Hayman Island for a final snorkel. We moored at a place called Blue Pearl Bay; it was a really small bay which was absolutely full of fish. We got into our snorkelling gear again and went out, it was so unbelievable just how many fish were out there in such a small area. So many different schools of fish just swimming around us, they were completely not affected by the fact that everyone was swimming around them; they literally swam in front of our faces. After a while of swimming about Steve one of the deckies, offer to pull me behind the dingy by a rope so I could have a quick tour, it was so funny and was good little spin he took me on. We managed to come across a giant turtle swimming just on the edge of the reef so I let go of the rope and actually swam along with the turtle for about 10 mins just watching it. Was so cool to see it in its natural environment! After lunch we sailed back to the port in Airlie Beach, we even joined in doing some of the work on the boat to pull the sail up. Once back on dry land, we checked into the hostel and got our big bags back, and got ready for the night. The crew had reserved us a table at a bar called Morocco's for all the people on the boat. Everyone came which was really nice so we all had a really good night, having a drink and a dance on the tables.
