Day 56 - 4th Mar - Blue Mountains! Onto an OzExperience bus and headed about an hour and a half out into the mountains. After a brief stop in a little local town for some breakfast, then we headed to spend the day with nature! The day was with a guide from OzExperience, so we headed for our first stop which was to see Red Kangaroos in the wild. We were pretty lucky and managed to see 2 kangaroos and a Joey grazing in the wild, was really nice to see them outside of a zoo, in there natural habitat. After this we went for our morning hike, this was through the rainforest on the mountains, walking around lots of little waterfalls. Was really nice to be out of the city again and to be doing some more physical activities, just to be walking around in the rainforest for couple of hours. Stopped for a bit of lunch before we went to Echo view point, where we went to see the 3 sister's rock formation. We did a little trail to walk towards the 3 sisters, and walked onto the first sister (apparently they are called this from some aboriginal story) to me they just looked like heaps of rocks! In the afternoon we went for another hike, this time it was down the 'thousand steps of death' which was not even remotely as bad as it seemed, was actually quite a leisurely walk down past some more little waterfalls and cliff hangings towards the scenic railway. The railway is apparently the steepest in the world, and it definitely felt like it when we were going up it back to the top of the mountain, it was basically horizontal. We stayed the night in the Blue Mountains for the night and had a pretty relaxed night there, just sitting in the lounge playing a few board games! Wild night!
