Day 157 - 159: after a few hectic days in Bangkok and that long train we took a few days in Chang mai to just chill. We spent our time walking around the city, eating good food and window shopping at the night market. We also hired a tuk tuk one afternoon to take us up to the phi ping palace and flower gardens where the king resides when he visits northern Thailand. We also visited the wat phrathat doi suthep temple on the way back down. We also took some time to organise our next couple of weeks in Thailand.
Day 160 - 162: after a couple of days not really doing too much we decided we just try and visit the surrounding area of chiang mai so we booked a two trek to an elephant camp situated in the northern Thai jungle. Our first day we were picked up early in the morning and made our way to the beginning of the trek. On the way we stopped at an orchid and butterfly farm and then at the local Market for breakfast. We then began our three hour trek through the jungle to the elephant camp. When we arrived at the camp we had some time to relax before we met the elephants. We spent the afternoon doing an elephant ride through the jungle and then we had the chance to wash the elephants, but since the elephants didn't care too much about hygiene and pooed in the water we decided just to watch. We then took some photos and fed the elephants before we were fed. That night we had a few drinks with the other people on the trip but had an early night. The next day we woke up had some breakfast and said goodbye to the elephants. We then walked for an hour before we were picked up and the way back to Chaing mai we visited a waterfall and then did some White water rafting. That night and the day after we just relaxed before our long train journey back to Bangkok.
Day 163: today we caught the sleeper train to Bangkok at 17:00. The food and the beds on the train we surprisingly good and the journey went pretty fast.
