Day: 197: Today was our over night flight back to heathrow. Our flight was late in the evening, so we spent most of the day trying to waste time getting to the airport and waiting in the airport. We still managed to nearly miss the flight but realised when the final call was announced! 13 hours later and around 04:30am we were back in the …

re: View From Puerto IguazúJJ My Dad was in the British Navy between 1937 and 1953 and at some point in WW2 when he was (I think) in the Indian Ocean, he was struck down with horrendous tooth ache. The nearest ship with a navy dentist and appropriate facilities on board was HMS Belfast (as pictured above). His ship rendezvous'd with Belfast and he was transferred across by one of those pulley and cradle arrangements. He had the offending tooth removed and the pain went away, allowing him to return to his own ship. We visited HMS Belfast on a family trip to London in 1967, and my Dad was able to locate the exact dentists chair he sat in back in 1942.
