Day 23: after a 3 hour bus journey and an hour boat ride we arrived in Ilha Grande a little bit wet because there were thunder storms on the way over to the island! The rain has followed us everywhere! Ilha Grande is an Island paradise with only 1 small fishing village and a few settlements around the island but apart from that the island is mostly untouched jungle. The rain stayed with us for the rest of the day so we stayed in the hostel and had a couple of drinks with another couple who we are sharing our room with and then we went out for dinner, where the food was great and cheap!

Day 24: the rain is still with us so again we just stayed around the hostel and explored the village we are staying in, which is tiny and took us all of about 10 minutes! The weather has given to improve for tomorrow so we booked and speed boat trip around the island. In the evening we got some food from one of the street vendors (a kebab and amazing cake for a total of 18 reals, about £5)

Day 25: the weather had imporved slightly the rain stayed away which is the main thing. So we went on the boat trip which was really good, it tooks to a number of different stops where we snorkle or get of and explore the Island. We were told we had a good chance of seeing turtles, rays and star fish however we seen none of these things but we did see a penguin!

Day 26: boat and bus to paraty! We arrived pretty late to Paraty which was disappionting as it only gave us one full day to explore. The hostel is really good, its ran by a family in thier own home so has a really homely feel, they even invited us to have dinner with them, but we declined and went out for dinner with a Nikin, a guy we met on the bus who is also stayin in our hostel.

Day 27: we rented some bikes from the hostel, nikin joined us, and we rode out into the country side and into the jungle to some of the waterfalls. We didnt manage to see them all as the ride was pretty tough. In the afternoon we headed back into the old town and had some lunch before the rain set in again! Later after a rest in the Hostel we made a chilli con carne after some difficulty order mince meat from the butcher! For the rest of the night we chilled in the hostel with a couple of beers and mikey and nikin got a few games of fifa in.

Day 28: bus to Sao Paulo
