Linda's Travel Diary
Today we are staying in the Beaujolais wine region of France in Chateux de Cruix. Gorgeous Chateau set in a stunning area full of vineyards. Some of the vineyards are balanced precariously on steep hills.
The Chateux is huge, has its own swimming pool and 'club'. We are treated to a wine tasting session and are introduced to the (in)famous snake wine (can't remember the French name, might be eau de vie, but translates as 'water of life' I think -don't quote me!) which is about 70% proof and has a real looking snake at the bottom...Not brave enough to taste it but the wine was pretty good. We are told how the wine is made whilst standing in the area where that wine vats are. Interesting stuff.
