It has certainly been a hectic few days......sorting banks, phones, bus passes, cycle routes, visiting A&E and socialising with new friends!
Wednesday was the scariest night of my life. All I was doing was chilling with some oatcakes and courgette mix I'd made and managed to give myself a severe nut allergy attack! I was on the phone to my friend when I realised I was going into the attack and had to call an ambulance. After 8 hours of hospitals, drips, injections etc I was well enough to head home to bed. DEFINITELY not having pesto EVER AGAIN. And I will translate every flipping spanish word if I have to haha! But all is well now, I have nearly died 4 times from nuts....if I am anything like a cat, I still have 5 lives left ;)
On a better note, me and Annie have made some very valuable friends already who we can see ourselves having some lovely times with! We have been out clubbing twice, had a tapas and DVD night, having a coffee date tomorrow and loads of other fun activities this week and it is already starting to feel like a little Sevillian family. We all bring something different to the group and seem to get on very well- company always makes big changes easier...it has made me look forward to the upcoming week :)
After a few occasions of getting lost, I think I have finally figured out a quick, swift route from the very centre of Seville to our apartment- only 20 minutes walk down the cobbled streets of the City. It is so picturesque, I can't quite believe I live here yet...it's like an extended holiday.
I feel like the City is becoming familiar....I don't panic when I get lost now, I just see the funny side of it and manage to find my way again in due course!
Tomorrow I start at the school...I am full of apprehension, but what else can I expect going into a school full of Spanish children and lots of staff that speak the bare minimum English?! Plus it is quite a long cycle, but I am looking forward to getting stuck into a routine and hopefully bringing something positive to the school.
I will update you all after my first experience of teaching! Hasta luego <3
