Well slight change to the end of my last post...So much for an early night, Miss Congeniality ended and i got really agitated again...it was only 10pm. 10 minutes later Liz says 'come on jos we are going out!' ready in 20 minutes and away we went! It was much busier than both previous times. Saturday night must be a good night to party, it usually is at home. We went to the Irish bar first, a lot more people there this time. We love the duelling piano players...they are awesome. Ironically they played 'hit the road Jack'...the song Liz has been saying will be her and Jacks wedding song during the tour. No idea why she wants it to be her wedding song...it's just telling him to b***** off haha.
After a lovely cocktail we tried somewhere new, called 'the Groove'. This was definitely our cup of tea. Some awesome tunes played and a dancefloor...great stuff. We were dancing for a little while when a guy comes up to Liz and says 'you're staying at the Days Inn right?' she replied with 'are you my stalker?'
Haha. He had just seen us walking 'round, he was with a group of guys...all pretty hunky firemen from New Zeland. Their arms were amazing!! We pretty much spent the night dancing with them. A few jäger bomb races took place throughout the night as well. Liz is like a machine doing them, one, two, three and hers is gone...I'm like 10 seconds slower than everybody. I suck!! We were raving it up until the place shut when we headed back to the hotel. Another successful night for the terrible two!
Not so much of an early start as we hoped...we didn't get to Magic Kingdom until 12.30ish and we most certainly didn't feel or look like princesses. This didn't stop our excitement though, as soon as we saw the big, shiny castle we instantly hit a high! As you walk through the gates, they call you princess and then say 'have a magical day!'...well through the gates I went to begin my magical day at the magic kingdom. Liz got a little emotional as soon as we began our stroll on the walkway leading up to the castle, she'd been waiting for this day since she was six...bless her, it was adorable.
As soon as we got there a parade was starting they were having a mini street party just for our arrival. Me and Liz of course joining in with our dancing and singing. Everyone was there from the likes of Baloo and Genie to Sebastian and woody. It was awesome! We were loving life!!
We started the day with a trip to see Buzzlightyear in tomorrow-land, took a ride on space mountain, which was probably the best ride of the day... I though thunder mountain was going to be good, I loved it in Disneyland Paris...but I guess I was only 10...not as exciting when you're a Big kid.
Liz was very excited all day, too excited...she kept calling me mommy and throwing strops and stood stamping her feet. Not sure what was up with that but it was very funny haha. It made the day more amusing for us.
It was soooooo hot out. We left the park early. We were craving some
TGI fridays so that's where we went with mr Edwards...we were having withdrawal symptoms after not seeing him for a day! After stuffing our faces we joined Huw and all went to the cinema. We went to see contagion! WARNING guys!!....stay away from this film... Terrible. An awesome cast but a shocking film. Two hours of my life I will never get back. It is just ridiculous...one scene had people rioting for food in the back of a van with a whole army holding guns around them doing b***** all...too scared to use a gun? Don't be in the army! Plus the film starts with Day 2 written on the screen and then ends with Day 1. Everything is summed up in the 10 second clip that is Day 1. If those 10 seconds were played instead of the whole film I'd have been happy I'd have known the story and not wasted any time. Maybe the writer should think about a career change...just saying. Anyway rant over, we were out of there.
Huw went and picked up his shoes...he was talk of the shop...only he could pay $40 to get his own face painted on his shoes and get away with it. It's so funny. What an absolute legend!...maybe I should take that back actually...don't want his head growing any bigger than it already is :p.
It was a mini road trip back to our hotel after a lovely evening minus the film part. Popped to the shop to get a quick drink for bed. I decided to try some Mtn dew...they should think of renaming it Mtn spew. It was YUK!! Won't be a purchase I make again...stick to what you know.
'In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight....' It was time for a visit to Animal kingdom. Lots to do here in the wilderness. We rode a rollercoaster round Everest, rafted down the rapids and took a jeep safari. Liz dressed as a zebra... and we decided to go and see the tigers, great idea? I think not. She was lucky she wasn't mistaken for a real zebra. It could have been messy!
Flights of wonder was a pretty cool show...very well trained birds flying over the audience...a parrot even beat a boy in a maths contest... granted all the answers were 4 but he still answered faster. I'm not the biggest fan of birds if I'm honest...they scare the crap out of me but it was pretty impressive.
We also saw the Lion king show while we were there, which was awesome. We sang along to all the songs with the whole cast: Timone, Pumba and Simba. The main guy(one of the singers) had the best voice I'd ever heard... Deep and husky. Liz said if he ever rang her and said he was God she would believe him and do anything he'd ask, even if he said to stop picking on gingers haha. I know...shocking!! Gimp!
Went and got some grub before another big night out. As we were walking back to the room a lizard ran across the floor and scared the bejesus out of Liz. She said 'my heart is not in my stomach right now.' When is it ever in your stomach Liz?? ha.
Well off we went to see what our night held this time. Universal is a little too close for comfort...now we know it's within walking distance it's becoming our second home. It was an eventful walk...involving planking on a zebra crossing, singing, no cartwheels this time though. I started recording Liz on the walk there she was singing I dreamed a dream, she got a bit...well extremely excited swinging her arms...she swang round and BANG...smack right in the eye. I have it on film. Definitely a you've been framed moment. Glad that's the only evidence of it happening, I won't become a princess with a black eye.
We were quietly sipping on our slushy cocktails when a balldancer named Roy who must have Been about 60 came over. He was asking us to join him for some lessons. He actually gave Liz his card...maybe we will give him a call! Or not he charges $40 per hour...we are thinking he might be an escort. Well he handed his card to the wrong ladies. Off you trot Roy! We met another couple from Wales and had a few drinks with them before gracing the karaoke bar with our presence. A few songs and drinks later we were walking home.
'It's time to wake up' says liz's alarm clock...turned her off straight away before going straight back to sleep. We thought we'd give the theme parks a miss today...we were to tired to get up. It had nothing to do with the after effects of alcohol haha.
After a few interuptions from the maids we eventually got up. We had a skype session with the lovely ladies from Manchester, Suzannah and Danielle... awesome to catch up with them and share all the goss! They are queens of gossip...we love it.
Al and the family came to pick us up and we headed to his hotel for a chilling day at the pool. We stopped at a supermarket on the way to get some lunch. We thought we'd be good and have a salad instead of bingin on a $1.99 pizza until we got to the till. Well, it bloody costs to eat healthy over here!!! $15 on a salad? I died a little inside when I saw the price. It's lettuce leafs and some pasta thats all...talk about over priced... jeees! I was not going to leave any at all plus I think I should keep the tray as a souvenir...I'll call it Wilson and it can be my friend... haha.
Chillaxing at the pool was fun. We had a little swim, two widths to be exact, made some videos, Huw modelled...well if that's what he wants to call it. He loves the posing does Huwbert.
It's that time of year when Santa takes a vacation...well you'll never guess what, he was holidaying in Orlando, he actually joined us at the pool. Unfortunately he'd forgotten his Santa suite so we were stuck with a view of him in some swimming trunks. You can imagine the view of him rubbing sun cream in his belly... A sight for sore eyes right there!
After a few hours we went up to the room so i could upload some picks. Barbs made me a lovely cuppa which went down nicely before going to play a round of crazy golf...Liz won she had the highest score. That's how you play right? No, Aldolf won really, no surprise there. I got a hole in one, but just once and in the first hole...all other holes were pretty much 3 or over. I was pants, golf is just not my thing haha. Huw kept throwing strops around the course... even flung his club. He was not having the best of games. To be honest I think that's how he plays all the time, there's a word for it... s***! It was very amusing, it made the game much more fun.
It passed the night away just nicely, and to make the night even better we got to watch Bill Compton and sexy Eric Northman in action...Tru Blood was on TV. Excited was not the word! We happened to be watching the last episode of the newest season though...idiots! It was soooo sad I even shed a tear, but so happy to see Eric and let's not forget a bit of Jason Stackhouse! Phwoar!!
Woken by the lovely voice of Bruno Mars who brightened up the day and put us in the mood for Hollywood Studios. This was right up our street. There were guys singing High school musical to welcome us, we just knew it was going to be a good day! We went straight to the American Idol experience first...we got to watch a live show and even vote! You could audition if you wanted to but Liz didn't want to put anyone to shame so we passed on the opportunity. We caught the end of the Indiana stunt show which was pretty awesome before heading over to the Beauty and the Beast show. We joined Chip, Mrs Potts, Lumiere and Cogsworth in a Tale as Old as Time singalong. The show was cool but they definitely could have chosen a prettier Belle. Belle is supposed to be beautiful!! They were not sending out the right image of her, it was quite upsetting! Haha. You know how sometimes you got a little person in the corner of your tv screen doing sign language? It can be quite funny when they are doing it to music. Well we had it... but live. There were two guys just to the side of the stage signing the show. I must say that was slightly more entertaining to watch.
To get the adrenaline going 'The Tower of Terror' was next!! Liz was crapping her panties! She wasn't backing out of this though. Hehe. It is pretty scary especially when all you have is a seatbelt to keep you safe. Well we were seated and there was no turning back. I honestly thought it was just a lift which takes you up and then drops you. Well it's not...mr Disneyland tricks you...the little rascal. It's like a ride first then out of nowhere you shoot up and then drop. Not just once either...when you think it's over, up you go again. My legs were like jelly getting off but all in all...LOVED it!
We joined Aerosmith on their tour and rode the Rockin rollercoaster. This is just awesome...0-60in like a second before doing loops and corkscrews in the dark to reach the VIP hangout. Aerosmith were unavailable when we arrived... What a shame, we still rode it again after going to watch the Little Mermaid, which was brilliant. I felt like I was under the sea with Ariel. She was a bit prettier than the Belle but still not on parr with Ariel. Time flew by and it was time for us to leave.
Instead of a coach we had a bit of a change and took a boat ride back to Epcot. Well big mistake...like I've said before stick to what you know. We were the wrong side of Epcot, it was 5.30 and we had to be at our bus for 6pm. Well as you can imagine...we panicked. Our options were to, one: get back on the boat all the way back to Hollywood studios to then get the bus back to Epcot or two: pay$188 to walk from one side if the park to the other. Well option one we would have missed our 6pm bus and would have to wait until 10pm so that went out the window. And two we didn't have enough money between us to pay an extortionate amount of money. So we were pretty much screwed! Luckily after a bit of kicking off they took us for a jeep ride behind the scenes of Disney(which is NOT as magical) to the front of Epcot just in time to meet Aled at our bus stop. Phew!!
Getting on the bus is just another nightmare. When the bus Arrives, everyone loses all dignity and manners fly out the window. Queuing system? I don't think so, they are like vultures pushing and shoving to make sure they get a space on the bus. If you don't push you get left behind. So yes you guessed it...we pushed. No way were we getting left behind. We had a night out to get ready for.
Another night out with Aldorf was on the cards. He was adamant that he would be bringing shamu back to the hotel. He needed to think again...that was not happening! After another fun walk to Universal involving cartwheeling and dancing yet again we went to get some iced cocktails...they are Goooood!
Aled was to much of a wimp to try one so he ordered an average bud. He didn't want to get too drunk but that happened anyway, he was out
with us, he should expect nothing less.
Well good 'ol Roy was on the prowl again, he must be getting a bit desperate. We tried hiding our faces like celebs do but that didn't work well enough, he spotted us and took a seat right behind...he didn't say anything though maybe because Aled was there or maybe he got the hint when we didn't call, I'm not too sure. After popping our head in to margarita ville where nobody was appreciating our dancing we went for a quick drink in the Irish bar before beginning the walk home. On our way out I had a ballroom dancing lesson with the security guard. I can safely say I suck at it...and did look like a douchebag. All good fun though.
We were starving when we got back so guess what...we were right fatties and ordered two large pizzas. I fell asleep before they came. Liz woke me up on arrival of the delivery. I was half asleep but still managed to eat half a pizza to myself...that's pretty impressive for someone who had their eyes closed pretty much the whole time. oops! Little miss piggy right here!
It ended up being a restless night, well for me and mainly Liz. She has bed bugs...and they are practically eating her alive, she moved to the floor but I stayed with the creatures. Luckily I didn't get bitten, I don't think I'm tasty enough. Aled was fast asleep like a baby except with loud snoring noises leaving his mouth, so it wasn't so restless for him.
We were up early as we couldn't get back to sleep so went to chill out in the lobby...sounds exciting I know. Had a lovely skype session with Elena, Carly and Fran and sang a great rendition of Happy Birthday... We sounded like a pair of strangled cats. Sorry Carl...I blame lack of sleep. Hehe.
The shuttle arrived just on time as we left for another day at Hollywood studios. First things first...another ride on Tower of terror, it had to be done! Even though we'd been on it already it was still scary. We were sat ready to shoot up...but no, that didn't happen,
instead it dropped first. Then I realised all towers must have a different ride. So I had no idea what was coming next. Great!!
We got to watch the extreme stunt car show, i loved it. They showed us how they film car chases and jumps and how they edit. Just my cup of tea...I was in a trance the whole show. We sat through the most boring Muppets show, a major buzz kill, to then take another go on tower of terror and Rockin rollercoaster before heading back to the shuttle. We were first in line for the bus today so there were no b*****s getting in front of us!
We stopped for some TGI's to fill the bellies before getting to bed for an early night...no going out tonight, the weekend is upon us, we need to chill.
Blind date wipeout is on TV, which is genius by the way...they first meet before the course starts and have to get through it together. Majority of them are idiots.
Well anyway, night guys, we will have a catch up just before we head to Miami. There's a big weekend ahead and it's going to be awesome. But first, we will be taking our second princess trip to Magical Kingdom. No hangovers, so princesses we will be!
Stay magical
