We went on the night bus from Penang to Kota Bharu. We were told it would take 12 hours from 9pm, so we expected to arrive at 9am the following morning. We actually arrived at 4am in the morning. We couldn't get any sleep on the night bus because the air conditioning was set to the Baltic setting. Penang is an island in the north of Malaysia. We got a minibus from Koh Lanta in Thailand to Georgetown, Penang. Georgetown is not very clean. We saw rats running about in the streets. In Koh Phi Phi we stayed in a Bungalow on a private beach. We had to go by boat to get on and off the beach. We had a lovely view of the sea and the sunrise every morning at half 6. This woke us up every morning because the sun shone directly onto us and by half 7 it was too hot to stay in bed. We did a lot of snorkelling in Koh Phi Phi. We spent 2 days on the beaches on Phuket island, sunbathing and swimming in the sea. It was nice but that is all you can do in Phuket. Everything is really expensive because so many tourists go there. I don`t know why so many tourists go to Phuket.
