Well our trip to Dunedin was the best! The woman bus driver was amazing! We had to stop after 30mins as she needed a crap! Then she stopped off home to get a cool box along the way. She also did an on coach quiz and sang some of the Australian National Anthem!!!!
Dunedin is all Scottish and is where the Otago Uni is so full of students, it also has the worl's steepest Street! We weren't keen on it and when we arrived we decided to go for a walk to the ahrbour and ended up at an Industrial Estate, I also had a delicious dinner of onion, mashed potato and sweetcorn that was mushed up...mmmmm.
On our only full day here we went swimming in the morning (yes that's TWO so far!!) and then went on the Elm Wildlife Tour on the Otago Peninsular. It was really really good. We stopped off to see if we could see any Royal Albatross but we couldn't but then we went to the Elm People's own private land and beach and did a spot of ecotourism! We went right up to a beach full of sealions which was pretty hair raising but really good. We were literally less than a metre away from hte pups and females and only a few metres from hte males which are the scary ones! One of the pups was using us as a defence wall against a male!!! We then went to some huts and saw some yellow eyed penguins - there are hardly any left, they were really funny waddling along and checking for sealions. Then we went to another bit of coastline and saw laods of fur seals...there were about 50 and they were playing in the rock pools, we even saw some sea lions hanging around trying to catch some pups!! It was really good, definately a worthy reason to go to Dunedin!
