When we arrived in the Blue Mountains we went to scenic world. We took the world's steepest railway down into the rainforest. It was so steep you start off leaning back and end up standing up. We went on a walk around the rainforest and saw a massive bird and some trees that have been eaten by koalas. They used to coal mine in the caves and we saw a video on that. Then we got the cable car back up. We all had a rubbish nights sleep as it was freezing cold and on a slope.
The next day we went to Echo Point which is a bit like the Grand Canyon. We saw the 3 sisters which are 3 massive stacks of rock in a rainforest. We tehn went to 2 other lookouts and then had a hairraising drive to the Jenolan Caves. The road was teetering on the edge of a cliff with loads of tight bends! We went on a tour around the Imperial cave with saw lots of stalagmites and tites! Then we went on a self guided tour around the Nettles Cave which was very interesting. On the way back it was dusk and we saw a baby kangaroo. Then we went into the town of Katoomba for dinner at a cafe called the savoy. Delicious. The orange juice was actually squeezed orange juice and teh smoothie was very nice and they never cahrged us for the hot chocolates!!
That night we had 15 scouts camping next to us and it was freezing. They were complaining adn the leader said 'you're a scout, work it out'!! We could see our breath in the van still in the morning adn there was a frost that had frozen Louises jeans solid. Hopefully Sydney would be warmer!Â
