Hello!! I hope you are all doing well! I'm currently in Sorrento - thursday was our last day of class and we left after that for a mini vacation from our vacation haha. It was much needed though - thursday we had to turn in our last paper which proved to be very difficult, and I tried to begin packing all my luggage and start cleaning my apartment. Ah. But class was wonderful - we had it early at 8:30 so we could leave for our trip earlier. For class we went to San Marco - where Fra Angelico's Annunciation and Mocking of Christ, among other works are.
So after class - we ran to the train station, and took the eurostar to Naples. Once in Naples we had to transfer trains to get to Sorrento - the train station is notoriously sketchy and known for pickpocketers so we held our bags tightly and made sure we were aware of everyone around us. We safely made it, thankfully, and it was well worth taking the public transportation (which I've grown to hate - I never thought I'd say it, but I can't wait to drive my own car!). Sorrento is amazing! Its so beautiful and I never wanna leave haha. Our hotel is on the top of the hill thing and so we overlook the Mediterranean. Our hotel also has AC and I'm so very gratefull haha.
Friday we got up early and took a boat bus to capri :) we rented private boats to take us around the island. We got to swim in the grottos, and we went into the famous blue grotto too. It was sooo gorgeous and so relaxing. When we got back I basically showered, ate, and went to bed. Very exhausted.
Today, I'm just lounging by our pool. I've kinda run out of money (everything is soo expensive! ) So I'm just gonna relax here and soak up some sun. Tomorrrow we're getting up super early to go back to florence - I need to finish packing (ugh not looking forward to it) and then monday I'll head back to sweet home alabama!! I know I'm going to miss it here so much when I get back, but I'm pretty ready to get home. I just need to stop stressing about the packing - I just don't know how I can pack everything into 3 bags and keep it under the weight limit ahhh (i bought a lot, but hey they're gifts for people! Lol)
Well I'm off to take a nap in the sun - when I get back I'll post pictures of how beautiful its here :)
