Sam & Eamon woke up and played around the caravan park with their walkie talkies while Mum & Dad packed up. We drove over to Zoe's house to pick up Renee from her sleepover and we all went back to Miami Beach for another surf before we departed for Coorong.
We stopped at Tailem Bend for lunch, and made it to Parnka Point in the late afternoon. We found a very nice spot overlooking the water. The toilets were about a mile away, and our first trip there we spotted an emu, and on the water were lots of pelicans. In this part of the Coorong it's only about 100 metres across to the sand dunes - the closest point all the way along the Coorong.
That evening, we went for a long drive down to Tea Tree Crossing where in the late summer it's possible to cross over to the sand dunes. We went across and through a few puddles of water and the area was quite spectacular being on the flats, and the dunes beside us. We didn't go up over the dunes and onto the beach as we would have to let the tyres down, and it was getting late. Back at the campsite we enjoyed another great sunset and watching literally hundreds of ducks flying just centimetres over the water at sunset, presumably going to their nesting place.
