What an exciting day today exploring the sights of Mt Gambier - a great place to visit, and one I'd recommend to anyone. We kicked off the day with a visit to The Cave Garden - it's a sinkhole in the centre of town and descends about 15 metres below street level with cascading ivy, and a stream of water flowing to its great cavern. It's a hot one today - the temperature was already 35 degrees at 10am. Thankfully, it wasn't a catastrophic fire danger like it was a few days ago, as the Naracoorte National Park would have been closed. Renee & Eamon went on the beach walk track while Mum & Dad packed up. We headed south east, stopping at Kingston SE for morning tea and then onto Naracoorte - it was hot, so we quickly set up camp and went down to the giant swimming lake that's adjacent to the caravan park. It's the biggest pool we've ever seen - the size of 11 olympic pools! It was so refreshing. After going into town for lunch and some shopping, we came back for some more swim time...

We had a quiet morning, with bacon and egg for breakfast - we were joined by a shingleback lizard (their head and tail look very similar, so they're also known as a '2-headed lizard').
