Feeling in a fragile condition, we waiting to be picked up by Matts uncle Pete and aunty Moina for the two hour drive to Rockingham, where we are to stay for the next four nights. As Matt has only met them briefly as a child we were both really looking forward to seeing them and being able to have memories of the ‘lost aussie ullah clan’. Luckily neither of us spewed in the car on the way down, however a few nervous glances were exchanged between us. That would not of being a very good first impression to make. When we arrived at the house we had everything, food, toiletries and a nice comfy bedroom waiting for us. A stroll down the beach and a coffee over sunset was a perfect platform to catch up with each other’s lives.
The plan tonight was a first for us all, A Barn Dance. One of their friends was having a 50th Birthday Celebration and had converted an aircraft hangar into the most amazing barn dance venue. The effort they had put into the décor was first class. They also had a band, unlimited wood fired pizza, a coffee van, soft drinks, mulled wine, homemade desserts and barn dance tuition. Everybody was having such a good time and it is a shame to say that we have never seen people having such a good time without drinking alcohol.
