An 11.5 hour night bus from Nha Trang to Hoi An was on the agenda today so before it a chilled out day on the beach was needed. Setting ourselves out for the day, we decided we would try the different eateries which were on offer. The first was an old lady selling corn, the second a hilarious woman selling watermelons who threatened to stab us if we didn't buy and the third a woman with plates of seafood so we lightened her load by purchasing shrimps and a lobster that she cooked on a BBQ in front of us. Although we don't really know the correct way to eat a lobster, we used the technique of the Chinese people we regularly see eating it. Snap off any bit that will snap off, crush it and eat the tiny bit of meat inside. The only significant bit of meat was the tail.
After a story told by a girl we met about a night bus of 12 hours only having 1 toilet stop we were extremely conscious about how much water we consumed today.
Hearing bad stories about night buses made our trip a dream....11.5hours, a couple of stops and a half decent sleep, only waking as the driver flew round corners causing the bus to sway. The night bus is probably best as it is hard to tell how close you are driving on the edge of mountains and the countless near misses the undoubtedly happened.
Arrived half an hour before schedule....BONUS
