As we only got in at 5am, a chilled day was needed so we headed to Patong Beach to watch the terrible/comedy parasailing and being hounded by beach sellers. The parasailing....the customers start stood up on the beach before being dragged (most head first) through the shallows as the boat sets off. Patong feels more like you are in Spain not Thailand, we are very glad we are here with friends as this may not have been our scene.
Another thing that needed to be ticked off our bucket list was Muay Thai Boxing. Watching NOT doing. We weren't sure what we had signed up for when as the matches started two young boys (at the oldest 11) stepped into the ring and bets started to be put on them. Luckily this was a friendly match and the fights improved. A Brazilian school were over and proceeded to knock out the Thai components. We were a little disturbed at the pairings and how long the ref's kept some of the matches going. We got everything we expected, elbows, knees, blood, betting and knockouts. We were all glad that we were close enough friends to call an early night ready for tomorrow's venture to Phi Phi.
