Nervous Turkey!
After a nightmare of a morning we are free with a platelet count of 132. What a palava with our insurance. In the end we paid the bill ourselves and we hope that we will be able to claim the costs back.
We traveled to our hostel in style as Nick and Erica very kindly came to pick us up from the hospital. We can't believe that is the last time in our trip that we will see them. We are hoping they make it to England in the future. We have also got to express how lucky we feel after a discussion with Nick and Erica about Dengue Fever, Matt got away very well compared to some stories they had heard in the last few days.
We caught up with Rich and Jenny before meeting Mel and Lorna for tea. With them staying at a different hotel, we cleverly devised our plan of them meeting us at a go go bar, knowing they would arrive before us. After some quick food we headed to Bangladesh Road to see what it had to offer. We had decided that tonight would be the night for a ping pong show seen as everyone was interested and we had safety in numbers. A number of drinks were needed before we had enough courage to step inside. Well we were actually pretty disappointed. The ping pong balls were a given, the banana was not realistic and the canary was just wrong....so was smoking the cigs. Safe to say the razor blades and needles made us up and leave. But it's one to tick off the bucket list. We then headed down go go bar lane where Mel played connect four for shots....which just turned into shots with what can only be described as a prostitute who proceeded to be sick in the bin behind the bar. As if the lesson was not learnt, in the next bar Rich did the same but this time his round for connect four cost him 1000b to a person he kept referring to as mate but was definitely a girl. It would be wrong to talk about this night without mentioning Mel's Asian accent when talking to Thai people, visiting an ice bar that was pretty much an oversized freezer, photos with some ladyboys and toasties all the way home. That's what happens on Bangla Road.
