Waking up early to get the boat from Tonsai to Ao Nang after Chars birthday night out was pretty difficult but all the gang managed to assemble bang on the meeting time. 10am. We had a jam packed day ahead and once we found some digs we booked an afternoon cooking class (2.30pm - 6pm) at a cooking school where Gordon Ramsey visited on his world cuisine series. Because we had an hour or two to spare before our pickup it seemed rude not to take advantage of the happy hour in a nearby bar. Frozen cocktails £2 and a litre of beer for £3 so by the time the cooking class came round we were well oiled and our stomachs were ready to accept a vast amount of food.
With 12 dishes on the table, we put in a sterling effort cooking and eating. After the first few dishes we were already nursing a food baby so when it came to the salads and soups we ate as little as possible. With it being Rich and Jen's last night, a big night out was on the cards, however after the cooking class this was the last thing any of us wanted to do. We hoped an hours nap would settle the food and put us back on track.
Some bad customer service in a bar caused us to leave a very bad review after WE were left feeling guilty over a wrongly ordered drink by them. But the night got much better as we checked out other bars in the area. Cocktails, beers, buckets and shots....spells a night for disaster or awesomeness. The latter was achieved. And ended with Matt tasting his Burger King on the way down and the way back up!
