Today was another quieter day in Placencia. I stayed in town, walking around town, looking in some more stores at the handicrafts people had for sale, etc. I went back to Tutti Frutti and had a cappuccino gelatto. Very nice.
One of the restaurants had BBQ day today, so I had barbecued jerk chicken with rice & beans and coleslaw, plus a beer, for lunch.

After lunch, I decided to walk along the beach. Today, the wind finally calmed down, and the water became fairly calm. I didn't make it out snorkeling to one of the Cayes (small barrier islands) while I was here for a couple reasons, but mostly because the wind was strong and the water choppy. It was suggested not to go in that weather.

While I was walking, a friendly dog followed me for much of the way. There are quite a few loose dogs here , and they all seem friendly and well looked after. Lots of different breeds too.

Afterwards, I spent some time on the beach talking to my neighbors in the apartment next door and went swimming too. Nice calm warm water. I ended up going out to dinner with them as well. . . Some very nice curry shrimp!

Now it's time to start packing. I leave early tomorrow to head to Belize City so I'll have some time there before getting on my flight to Houston. I'm just getting used to Placencia so I'm going to miss it, especially knowing there's snow and cold on the other end!
