What a mad week I've had! It's started off with the beginning imfamous Beef Week in Casino!! All weve heard about since we started working here was 'Beef Week this' and 'Beef Week that' and how it was gonna be so crazy and the town goes crazy so I think me and Lj were thinking it was gonna be Ibiza/Maga style! BUt it was really cute how crazy these people go for some cows!! The town was quite busy but the Cecil was really quiet which was dissappointing but they all said that everything would kick off on our Friday and Saturday and it was really busy but I think we held it together really well! There was a few times in the night things started going t*** up foe example running out of bundy rum, running out of vodka, when the post mix machine broke down, when my head went up my arse and kept putting the wrong mixer in drinks!! But other than that it went really well! Things like running out of booze was out of our control and it made me quite annoied that Nik and Greg had went on and on about Beef week for so long and how busy it gets, but they hadn't even stocked up the bar right - and it wasn't even 1/2 as busy as what we were expecting it to be!

Because we were working quite a lot we didn't get to see much of it but I think we saw the main bits on Saturday. We were working till 4am on Friday and got up at about 11am and headed out to see some of what beef week was about. When we were getting ready Lj came through proper excited "I can hear pipe bands!!!" so we ran out to find out where they were coming from! Just outside the pub there were loads of stalls selling loads of random stuff from pots and pans to candy floss to whips to kicthen knifes and hippy bracelets. SO random!! We walked to the end of Baker street and just saw all these cows on the street! Yes, this was a MAIN street in casino and cows were just casually strutting about! We found out there was a catlle auction being held so people were bringing their cows in, walking them about a bit and then they were being bought off! So, So random! I couldn't believe it - there were cows everywhere! Easily at least 200 cows there blocking up all the street! After having another wee wander we decided to go to the Oxford for a nice lunch although it ended up getting quite tainted cause I saw I had a few missed calls from work and I knew they would be needing us in so I felt wuite bad but thought f*** it! I never get to do stuff I want to so I'm going too have much lunch Ive paid for before going back! By the time we finished eating and phoned the hotel back they were fine, just went through a rough lunch.

We ended up being just in time for the parade about to start and the theme was ozzie icons so I didn't recognise all of them but there was a few great floats and costumes! There were bloody HUNDREDS of them though so we just left half way through cause we had to get to work! and then it was another 12 hours of pulling pints, opening cans and working away!! So excited though cause we were going to Brisbane tomorrow (after another 6 hours shift!)

All in allBeef Week was a good laugh. Not what I imagined it to be but still good fun and I'm glad I was a part of it :)
