Went to Choeung Ek (The Killing Fields) today where the Khmer Rouge killed and buried thousands of Cambodians. They have the skulls and bones of bodies they have exhumed. Hired a guide to tell us about the site, they would basically interrogate the prisoners in the city and then bring them out to Choeung Ek to kill them. They would test out different ways of killing people and alot of the time it was either by bashing them to death or decapitating them. They didn't want to waste their bullets you see.
So it was very sad, they were insane to do what they did. I can't imagine being there. We also went to a prison, called S21, which used to be a school. This is where they interrogated everyone. Heaps of photo's of the people that were prisoners. Lots of childeren as well.
All is well though, had some breakfast this morning from the side of the street. Was supposed to be pork with rice. There was lots of fat and bones but not much pork. I had some but it wasn't very appetizing. Derek, the guy i'm with ate pretty much all of it. Might have to go back to omelette's I think.- comments
