Up at 6 this morning (actually I was woken up at 5:45 by my early morning wakeup call). Last night's choice of backpacker wasn't the best, but be assured I now have a list of pre-requisites that will ensure that I only get the best from now on ;)
So on the bus at 7am for a 6 hour trip across the border to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Found a backpacker (called the Okay something) and had something to eat. Now in a bar owned by an English guy getting some free internet (with any purchase, so i'm having a beer as well).
City seems ok. It's hot, as you would expect. Only really want to see the killing fields and then off to a place called Sihnoukville which is on the coast. Planning on doing nothing there for about a week.
Bus ride was ok, changed some money on the border (US$1 = 4000r) although I was changing dong for riel (about 5 dong for 1 riel) and I think I got ripped off. I had the biggest wad of notes I have ever held they were all small notes so I didn't actually have much.
Well out of beer so I had better get off.

Belinda Sounds like you are having an absolute blast leigh!! I am so happy that you have found your traveling feet and you have hit the ground running. I wouldn't mind a bit more of that hot weather you are having as it is fairly cold here..although today got hot enough for me to take my hoody off!!! Flights home were long, airport waits were a little boring without you to entertain me but I made it through and returned to the island state a better person than when I left from my experiences with you. Tanks for letting me know about the pic I searched for abotu half an hour and then was resigned to the fact that someone worthy must have it and it was part of the global give and take that we incur constantly. SO ill be off, keep updating your blog...and keep taking every little experience and moment for what it is, a stepping stone to whatever's next. I love you...P.s have you started reading/writing in your journal? Take care little brother....xx
