We had a bit of a sleep in (8am) and then took a small wooden yacht ( not quite the luxury super yacht we all imagined but it still floated) to a coral reef where we snorkeled and baked in the warm sun (I took some time to think about you poor broken hillians and your 16 degree winter days) mind you I got fried so I currently look like Rudolph, not to mention this morning I woke up with some sort of bite on my eye so it was all swollen and attractive, I took advantage of street retail and purchased some "aviators" for $2 to hide it. I also got some jellyfish stings on my legs so I have some battle scars to bring home but at least I'll be tanned :)
Everyone got drunk on the boat and one of the kiwi boys treated us to a "facial" demonstration - don't worry this involved no genitals, it was basically shaking a beer can til it bursts, smashing it on your forehead and letting it spray your face...apparently something they do after a rugby game (just another reason AFL is clearly better)
We had traditional lunch on the boat, while the tour guide (who's name nobody could remember so he got us to call him Bruce Lee) and his band sang for us a bit of wonderwall, completely out of tune but it was hilarious!!
Then we all jumped into the water for happy hour around the floating bar, the bartender called shots every 5 minutes lol (I wasn't drinking again but a crack up to watch) the tour guide and boat driver both got into it (loving the lack of laws haha)
We cruised to a water sports area for the choice of jetskis, banana boats and parasailing. I went parasailing and it was AWESOME I could have stayed up there all day! Loved it! It was funny though, they had no debrief or safety instructions (I don't think they even spoke English) they just threw the harness on me, clipped me on and said "1,2,3- you run!" haha!
We went back to the motel at about 4pm and Hoover recommended a luxury spa around the corner so I was there! I got a massage, reflexology, facial, body mask and aromatherapy flower spa bath for $100! And I have NEVER had such good service, it took about 2.5 hours but felt SOOOOO good, especially on my sunburn!
I missed dinner but got a salad to take back to the room and crashed!
