We both slept so well last night, comforted by watching james bond sky fall before bed and I slept with my sleeping bag so I felt closer to home. Laura woke up with 4 bites on her left foot, the big toe swollen - not happy.
We had our complimentary breakfast buffet which was okay, not the best but free!
After breakfast we tidied our room then sat by the bar in the sun, we could hear singing and chanting and think it was coming from a local church. Ben invited a girl sat on her own to sit with us, Catherine from Ireland but lives in London, we were later joined by her room mate Julia from Australia, we later found out Julia is a nurse so nice to know we have a nurse walking with us!!! Julia had ventured out of the hotel grounds to a local shop and said it was fine so the four of us went and we brought some water and crisps. (Ben had been bugging Laura to go out adventuring before hand but Laura was too scared, mainly because the hotel is guarded at night with a man and his shotgun!) After our shopping adventure we chilled in our room then resumed to the bar and made friends with John and John, two canadians, Ben had a wonderful time talking to them about raking leaves, snow and which was the right side of the road to drive on! Unfortunately they are taking a different route up the mountain so we will not be walking with them.
We met at 6 for our briefing, it was very informative, we have 19! porters, 1 chef, 1 CEO and 4 assistant CEO's. The CEO came to our room after to look through our kit, we have been advised to hire walking poles and skiing gloves . (Ben not happy about the walking poles as he is a pro walker!!!) After we met our team for dinner which we are pleased to say consists of the following - Catherine whose Irish that lives in London, Julia from Australia, Anna from Sweden, John from U.S and Romy from Ireland...apparently there is 2 more but they haven't arrived yet.
Time for sleep for our huge adventure up Kilimanjaro! Updates will be on our return to our hotel at the end of the week.

Margaret Carney Sounds like you're having fun. I'd forgotten you were going to Tanzania first of all. Enjoy your trek up the mountain, keep warm.
