Only one day in San Cristobel! Its very small and cute so that is all we need. Firstly it is cold here! This is due to the altitude as we are at about 2000 metres i think. We actually have use for our jumpers other than on the buses. Another bonus is there are no mossies and it makes a nice change from the humid heat in huatulco. We have done a lot of walking up small hills to see the views of the city and surrounding valleys. Pictures are slow in coming i know! ...

We survived the 6 hour minibus journey from Oaxaca to Huatulco. It was dirt cheap but we were crammed in a 6 person minibus with 12 mexicans. The trip took us through a winding dirt track across many mountains. We stopped in two villages on the way one of which was having a wedding where everyone attended. On Wednesday we took the coach for 6 hours and got to Oaxaca City, a pretty colonial style city with a nice relaxed vibe. The centre of town was a square surrounded my cafes where people chilled out and listened to live music which always seemed to be going on. Sometimes in several places simultaneously. Mexico City, without a doubt one of the craziest places in the world... Makes any other city look tame in comparison. There are people everywhere, crazy markets, spontaneous dancing, protesting and capioera. The first day was hectic, but now we have recovered from jet lag we have begun a punishing schedule of walking. I'm on my second pair of shoes.
