Another action packed day to be had. We pretty much decided that we woldnt make it all the way down to Esperance, I was a little disappointed but I didnt want to spend all say just driving there and then have to drive back either. Todays plan was to go to the Karri tree forest and then head to green pools, then to Albany.
The drive up to the forest would take about half an hour or so, Kirst was behind the wheel so we made it there in good time. The walk around the forest was good, you basically walked up on suspended walk way whch provided much entertainment for the younger kids as they jumped up and down on the walk way making it spring up and down in a trampoline type fashion causing many adults to turna rather sickly shade of grey and semi-permenantly sticking their hands to the rail which subsequently caused a hold up. Much to someones horror there was only a maximum of 10 people on each section at any one time and obviously some people paid more meticulous attention to it than others as people were shouted at to move along by one rather port man.
The walk was ok, a bit exspesive for what it was, the mood amongst the group want great as Kirst felt ill and Jack was rather preoccupied with the amount of money that was flowing out of his pocket so all in all I probably wouldnt rate it as one of the topthings we did that day!
We made a quick exit out of the car park and slammed in jacks tunes onto the cd player as he had had to suffer with chikyfied music for son long I think he would go mad. I wasnt quite familiar with the genre of music but it kept us going. Our next stop was green pools, now by this time it had surely heated up by a fair few degrees and everyone was out making the most of the weather, this also meant that the car park was full but luckily we managed to cruise right into a space.
I dont think either of us could of imagined quite how beautiful this becah was, it was quite bizarre because although it was so obviously a part of the ocean it cold almost have been a lake too. The water was so still and clear it could almost have been a mirror with a slight tinge of green. This was the perfect opportunity to use my snorkel!! yey thank the lord after all these months of carrying it arund I finally get to use it, awesome.
In my usual manner I tippy toed into the water (which to be quite frank was ridiculous due to the fact that by UK standards this water was bath temperature) I dont know why I just could quite bring myself to fully submerse myself in the water straight away. Eventually I did get in though and it was to good for words. To be out of the scorching sun and in the cooling water which as basically a natural swimming pool was simply heaven.
Im not going to lie to you we spent ages there, Kirst was desperate to catch some rays, Jack was desperate to launch himself off a rock and I was just happy to be wearing my snorkel and mask. Everybody was so friendly and although this place is in the national park far from any houses there was a real family feel to the place it was lovely. Not to be too flippant about the place though because if you should get caught in one of the rips i think you could end up a fair way away so everybody bar the crazy asian tourists stuck to the pool part.
After some suitable sunning we made our way to Albany.
