Hi Guys Since we last updated the blog we've spent a few days sailing around the beautiful, beautiful Whitsunday Islands. They really are breathtaking. We spent time at Hook Island where we took a trip on a glass bottom boat to see the coral reef - unfortunately because of the cyclone the visibility was a bit naff but weve been told its much, much better up in Cairns which is where we plan to do some snorkeling. Next we took in Daydream Island and saw some small sharks in the lagoon and finally we went to Whitehaven beach which was stunning. The sand is 90 something percent silica and had the consistency of icing sugar and it squeaked as you walked over it! On Thursday we woke to a tropical rainstorm and it p'd down for about 4 hours, the roads were flooded but luckily for us it cleared up just as quick as it arrived. From Thursday onwards we spent a few days in a small city called Townsville which has a lovely man made beach and a small water park that Stu couldn't resist! On Friday we went fishing.... yeah I know me fishing! We went to a Barramundi farm and both of us caught ourselves a Barramundi. Stu had been going on about catching a Barra for ages so I thought I might as well give in! Townsville was lovely a city but not too busy and a really relaxed vibe.
