Wow, what an amazing few days we just had. Last Thursday we set off to do the Inca Trail. We had a meeting with our trekking company (Llama Path) the evening before and they´d told us that, due to a transport strike that has been going on here, they´d pick us up at an earlier time of 4am. We have returned from the Amazon and had the most amazing time there. Prior to that we had a couple more days in Cuzco where we visited an Inka museum, did some shopping for gifts and souvenirs (you can buy anything you can possibly think of with llamas on here). The day after I last blogged we went on another trip to Lake Titicaca´s islands. Our main stop was Taquile island, but we stopped at "the floating islands" again on the way. It was better this time because everything was explained to us in English, which helps. We went to a different island and we were told that we were 17 metres above the floor of the lake. So after I last wrote we went off and caught a coach to Nazca, although it was an hour late leaving. That´s just Peruvian time-keeping for you! The coach journey was a bit disturbing due to films they choose to show. They were all really violent and because it was dark outside for most of the journey we were forced to watch them.
