WOW this is the most amazing place, I've fallen in love with Switzerland.
Day 1
Today we left Pari, on a 10 hour drive through France and into Switzerland. Our bus actually stayed awake today which is a mirical in it's self because we drove through some of the most scenic senery in the world. We were sorounded by snow top mountains, waterfalls and glacier green rivers and lakes. It's really obvious that the swiss take pride in there country they even stack fire wood to perfection. We had our first big night here at the local pub. Where we had a drink off to another bus tour company "Budget" which we lost because of our bus driver Stevo. We also shared the pub with some English marines, who became friendly with some of the girls on tour. I didn't realise the swiss walls shook at night.
Day 2
This morning was really easy to get up (unlike my room mates Jane and Nerada who struggled to make breakfast), as we opened our eyes to the breathtaking senery of the tiny village of Laterbrunnen at the base of Jungfrau and Schilthorn mountains. Today we got to go up the awesome 4000m high Jungfrau mountain (top of europe) by railway. Where we had a small issue we arrived to catch the train at 0840 but our carriage was booked for 0740. Our tour leader Damo managed to stop the train (which never happens the swiss a very prompt) and get new tickets and we squeeze into a Contiki carriage. This was well worth it as we got to have our first snow fight and build a snow man. Not to mention the ice palace and THE VIEW. Eliza met up with Lauren and me as we headed back down the mountain stopping off at Kleine Scheidegg (they have beer teepee's) and Wengen (we hopped off the train here not realising it wasn't Lauterbrunnen whoops). Finally back at Lauterbrunnen we walked through the main street and bought our swiss army knives which had to be green ones as they only sell them here in Switzerland. On our way back to the camp site we walked under a waterfall and through a tunnel. Dinner shell be cheese fondoue followed by sausage, beans and potatoe something, followed by apple struddel.
This has to be my favourite place so far.
