Yesterday we had an awesome day for my birthday! We started with breakfast at McDonald's before grabbing a taxi to get us to Den Sam waterpark. This was incredible! It was a weekend so we knew it would probably be busy but it was ridiculous how many people were there! We were some of the only westerners there as well which meant we got quite a bit of attention!
We went on pretty much all of the slides, which were so fast and left us aching today! There was also a massive wave pool, with a stage at the front where a live band played for a couple of hours. This was crazy because as the band played all the Vietnamese in the water went mental splashing water!
There was a quiet area reserved for foreign tourists so every so often we went there for a bit of a relax! At around 3 we decided we were going to head off, so after getting out stuff together we headed towards the exit, getting stuck in the massive crowds of people who all seem to have decided to leave at the same time!
Back in the city we got showered and dressed and face timed home. We then headed into the backpackers area for food and drinks. We had some really good Mexican food at a little place down the quieter end and then went to a rooftop bar for a few cocktails. It had been quite a long day so we headed back to the hotel around 9ish with a few drinks to finish my birthday watching some films.
This morning we had a bit of a lie in and a last wander around the city, going to visit the old post office building, the opera house and sit in one of the parks. We went back to finish packing and had an early dinner at the street food market. We got back pretty early to make sure we were ready to leave at 7am for our flight to Thailand tomorrow!
