Last night we met up with the people we had met in Mui Ne and had some food and drinks at the street food market in town. After this we decided to try and find the backpacker area with all the bars. Walking down the street heading towards it we crossed paths with another group of tourists. They got about 15m behind us when I heard a noise and a scream, I turned around in time to see a motorbike drive off the path in front of them, quickly realising. He had driven right through them and taken one of their bags. It all happened so quickly and was really scary considering if they hadn't passed us or it had been five minutes earlier, we would have been the targets. The poor girl was devastated and the guy with then started chasing the bike but he was long gone. This will definitely make me more wary again, as I know I have probably been a bit slack.
After this we went for a few drinks and we're just sat talking until we were asked to leave the bar as they were closing!
I've been pretty tired recently and with that late night I didn't wake up until midday today! We went straight for food and then decided to have a look around Ho Chi Minh. We started in the war remnants museum. This was really interested but very biased towards Vietnam, making a bit uncomfortable and eye opening! After this we went to look at Notre Dame, a cathedral in the centre, which was amazing especially as we arrived while a service was on. We grabbed a coffee at Vietnams version of Starbucks and remembered that we needed to find somewhere to print off our flight tickets. We Google the nearest tourist information and headed that way through the upmarket part of district 1, with loads of designer shops! The staff there were lovely and printed off everything we needed for free, meaning it is one less thing we need to think about! At this point it was about 5 so we went back to shower and change and ended up watching some movie. Some food and a wander around the night market ended our day and we headed back to bed ready for the Mekong Delta tour we have booked for today!
