After breakfast this morning we finished packing and checked out. We had a whole day to kill before our night bus so we decided to check out some of the places we still haven't seen in Hanoi. We were up early this morning for our trip to Halong Bay! After a quick breakfast, we grabbed our stuff from our room and waited to be picked up from reception. The bus arrived about 8.15 and we started the 4 hour drive to Halong. Both of us managed to sleep for the first half before the rest stop. We ended up having a pretty civilised night for Shane's birthday. We had a few drinks at a nearby hostel where we met a couple of people then headed off for some food and drinks. Everything in Hanoi closes around 12pm, and we couldn't be bothered to find the ones that stay open so headed back earlier than we had expected. We have made it to Vietnam! We spent our last day in Laos collecting our passports from the Vietnamese consulate, visiting a temple and having a chill out at the hostel.
