Today we made a day trip to Lyon. The weather was perfect and we spent our day finding food markets and wandering around the heart of the city.

First we went to the Saint Antoine street market that has made us very jealous as it is open Tuesday to Sunday with delicious food that the locals clearly make great use of.

After lunch we headed up to the Notre Dame Basilica on a huge hill in the middle of the city. We could really get a feel for just how big Lyon is.

We finished with the highlight, the Les Halles Market. It is a beautiful indoor market with an amazing and delicious array of food. The vendors really are food lovers and we had a great time looking at all they had to offer, chatting with the vendors, and buying a delicious spread for dinner. It was a fun day!
