There isn't much to report from Phi Phi. We had a beach day followed by a night out with a couple of buckets and a fireshow. The fireshow was great, we were on the front seats so I did get a bit nervous everytime they threw the fire stick in the air! Everyone walked away without any major injuries so it was all good!
The following day we took a longboat trip out to Phi Phi Leh, this started off really well, the boat stopped off in a bay so we jumped off for a swim, at the next stop we did some snorkelling but when we got to Maya Bay it was absolutely heaving. Don't get me wrong I was expecting it to busy but it was like the whole of China had pulled up on their speedboats! You literally couldn't move so we were pretty disappointed. To cheer ourselves up we started to 'photobomb' other peoples' photos which is a fairly simple game but can provide a good hour of fun and we got more creative as the game progressed.
I'm not entirely sure what to think of Phi Phi and neither is Davie. There isn't much to do other than party and sunbathe and you certainly don't need more than a couple of days there, 4 was too many. In some respects I just felt like I was on a Greek Island or in Spain except the sea was warmer! It didn't feel like Thailand. We still had good fun though and it's something to cross off the bucket list.
Yesterday we left Phi Phi and took another nightbus from Krabi to Bangkok. Bangkok second time around is much better and we successfully managed to navigate ourselves to the hotel using public transport without going wrong!
As we are nearing the end of the Thailand trip we are also coming to the end of our budget so we thought we'd blow some of it on knock off sunglasses, why not?! So we headed out to one of the worlds largest markets - the Chatuchak weekend market. It's huge! If I ever come to Bangkok again I'm going to bring an empty suitcase and just kit myself out at the market. Davie successfully haggled two pairs of "Ray Ban" sunglasses for 300 baht but when I found a pair I liked on another stall the guy was having non of my bartering, it was either full price or nothing and there was no way I was paying full price so I went home empty handed.
Tomorrow we are heading to the MBK centre to continue our knock off shopping so hopefully you'll see me sporting some swanky shades in the next lot of photos. My obsession with buying sunglasses has got so bad that rather than pay for laundry I am now washing my knickers in the sink just to save a few baht (thanks for the washing line Kristal!)
On Monday evening we fly out to Sydney so we'll be saying G'Day and throwing shrimps on the barbie before we know it! We can't wait to get the Australia part of our journey under way.
Keep your fingers crossed for me and my sunglasses hunt tomorrow!

Lisa Donkin Such a shame maya bay like that now, it was fairly busy when we were there too and spoils it a little. Agree with you and phi phi, we said we were glad we went but don't feel the need to go back. Once you have seen it over a couple of days, that's all you need. Looking forward to hearing your next instalment. Love to you both xxxx
